Long time customer finally writing a review for this location. today I ordered the Classic Ceviche and tasted something new--star anise. I appreciate their willingness to experiment with new ingredients. I certainly didn't taste any star anise in any of the ceviche I had in Peru. However, at one point I got a concentrated mouthful of star anise while eating, which was very overwhelming since it's a potent spice. If you put the seafood in a star anise marinade that has been adjusted for taste, you can avoid the unevenness in flavoring.
I also noticed a new spicy kick in the leche de tigre. LOVE IT!! How about experimenting with some Sichuan peppercorns next?? I'd love to see you guys incorporate and expand on Chino Peruviano flavors. NYC has a wealth of Chinese restaurants that can take this cusine to the next level!
I'm excited by Mission Ceviche's creativity and ability to deliver great taste at the same time. I'll be checking out your UES restaurant soon! Btw, I'm moving to California and hope to see you guys out there!! -

Super yummy! First time trying ceviche and now I'm obsessed!
I got the combo and was kind of disappointed at the portion at first but in the end I couldn't finish it. The food is so filling you don't need to eat a lot.
Definitely coming back. -

Went to Peru recently and was missing Peruvian food so I decided to give this place a shot! Ordered the seafood mixto which tasted very fresh. I enjoyed the toppings, especially the sweet potato mousse. Very generous size, could definitely eat as a meal.
Regarding the negative reviews, some of them are just ridiculous. I saw a few complaining about the lime flavor and acidity? It's ceviche, it's SUPPOSED to be acidic. That's like ordering a meatball sub and complaining about the marinara sauce. If it's not for you, it's not for you but don't leave a negative review blaming the staff for making the dish how it's supposed to be made. Mine was actually less acidic than a lot of the ceviche I tried in Peru too. -

Ordered the seafood rice bowl ($16 something after tax). Seafood included fish, mussels and shrimps cooked with some peppers, bathed in a creamy curry-like sauce then served over rice.
The fish tasted of great quality, mussels weren't too bad and the shrimps were probably the frozen variety but nonetheless made the dish taste good as a whole.....I just wish there was a little more seafood at this price.....
Rice was plentiful and was saturated with the cream sauce, making each bite a spoonful of deliciousness. This was probably the most enjoyable part of the dish for me.
Recommend stopping by if you're in the mood for some seafood eats as it seemed to be the only place that did something like this. The other items on their menu looked interesting too, I believe it caters to Peruvian cuisine.
**Be careful eating, as some of the shells of the mussels fragmented too! -

I came here for a late lunch and ordered the seafood mixto ceviche. The dish came with a generous portion of seafood.
I love the flavors and how refreshing the food is. It's a healthy bite to eat.
The crunch from the corn added a nice texture contrast to the sweet potato mousse.
